Fortinet

Track Fortinet Engage rewards, specializations and the incentives tied to registered deals in one dashboard.

Engage pays on more than the first sale. Fortinet is moving recognition across the whole customer life cycle, and the levels that set your terms are gated by specializations you have to keep holding. Rebates-On keeps the reward and the requirement in one place.

Built by channel veterans. Partner-side, not vendor-side.

The program

What Fortinet Engage is, and what decides your terms.

Fortinet Engage is the framework Fortinet uses to organize the IT solution providers that sell and support its security products.

Engage sorts partners two ways at once, and both of them reach the money. One is the business model you operate under, which Fortinet describes as Integrator, MSSP or Marketplace. The other is your level, and levels are gated on what your staff can prove rather than on revenue alone. Fortinet's own program announcement names four: Advocate, Select, Advanced and Expert, with Advanced reached on staff certification standards and Expert reserved for partners carrying both high revenue and a certified bench. Specializations are where a level turns into terms, and Fortinet states plainly that Select and above partners are eligible to specialize. The current list runs across SD-WAN, Cloud Security, Secure Networking Firewall, Secure Networking LAN, SASE, Operational Technology and Security Operations. What Engage does not publish is the rate behind any of it.

What is changing

Engage is being rebuilt around the life cycle, not the transaction.

Fortinet is extending recognition past the first sale, and that changes which of your activities earns.

  • Recognition beyond the initial sale. Fortinet describes the updated program as expanding recognition to partner contributions across the entire customer life cycle, which moves earning toward services delivery and customer expansion rather than the transaction alone.
  • A clearer global structure. Fortinet says the program is being given a more consistent global structure so requirements and benefits are easier to read. Until that lands, the level names and the specialization list are the parts worth re-checking against your own portal.
  • Specializations being streamlined. The specialization set is being tightened. A specialization you hold today is a gate on your level, so a change to the list is a change to what you have to hold.
  • A new platform designation. Fortinet has said an Engage Platform designation is coming, for partners who can show expertise across the integrated platform rather than a single product line.

Specializations gating your level today

SD-WAN, Cloud Security, Secure Networking Firewall, Secure Networking LAN, SASE, Operational Technology and Security Operations. Select and above are eligible, and each one you hold is a requirement you then have to keep. Rebates-On tracks the certifications behind them against the level they protect.

Where the money goes

Where Fortinet partners leave rebate dollars behind.

Engage pays on conditions, and every condition is a place the money can stop without anyone being told.

The registered deal nobody followed

A registration is the start of a condition, not the end of one. Submitted is not approved, and the reward riding on an approved registration does not arrive on its own. Fortinet's stated direction includes a rebuilt portal with streamlined deal registration, which changes the screen and not the obligation.

A specialization that lapsed quietly

Specializations gate your level, and they are held by named people holding named certifications. When one of those people leaves or a certification expires, the specialization goes before the level does, and the level takes the terms with it.

Life-cycle earning nobody claimed

As recognition moves past the first sale, a growing share of what you earn attaches to renewal, expansion and services delivery. Money that attaches to an activity rather than an order is money somebody has to connect to the activity.

Two structures, one portfolio

Your business model and your level are separate axes, and a partner can sit in a different place on each. Reading your terms off the level alone is how a team plans against a number that does not apply to the way it actually sells.

A quarter that closed short

Level requirements and specialization gates are measured on the vendor's clock, not yours. A requirement you meet a week late is a requirement you missed, and the terms it protected are already set for the period.

Terms read from a stale document

Fortinet is actively restructuring Engage. A level name, a specialization or a rate taken from a document a year old can be wrong in a way that looks exactly like being right.
What Rebates-On tracks

Your Fortinet position, in one place.

Not the registration screen. The money that depends on it.

  • Every incentive that depends on a registered Fortinet deal, so a reward that is earned and one still waiting on approval stop looking the same
  • Every specialization you hold and the certifications underneath it, with the people and the expiry dates that decide whether it survives the quarter
  • Your level and the requirements holding it, checked against the vendor's period rather than remembered
  • Life-cycle earning as well as first-sale earning, so services and expansion revenue is tracked against the reward it triggers
  • Your MDF and co-op balances with their claim deadlines, because funds you do not claim expire on the vendor's clock
  • Fortinet next to every other vendor you sell, in one language instead of one portal each
Levels and requirements

The four Engage levels, and what actually gates them.

Fortinet gates its levels on proven capability, so the bar is your bench and your specializations rather than revenue alone.

  1. Expert Top level

Fortinet reserves this for partners with consistently high revenue, delivery across the full portfolio, and a bench of highly trained and certified staff able to handle the most complex deployments.

  2. Advanced Certification-gated

Reached on staff certification standards combined with delivery across the breadth of the Fortinet portfolio. The gate is people and what they hold.

  3. Select First specializing level

Fortinet states that Select and above partners are eligible to specialize, which makes this the level where your terms start to be shaped by what you can prove.

  4. Advocate Entry

The starting point for a partner beginning a relationship with Fortinet. Fortinet describes it as carrying limited requirements and limited benefits, which is an honest trade rather than a criticism.

Two things about this ladder are worth saying out loud. The requirement side is public and the reward side is not: Fortinet publishes the shape of the levels and the specializations that gate them, and the rates sit behind the partner portal. And Fortinet is rebuilding the program right now, with a stated move to a clearer global structure and a streamlined specialization set, so the half you can plan against is the half worth re-reading against your own portal each period. That is the half Rebates-On keeps current for you.

How Rebates-On helps

From a portal you visit to a position you hold.

The work is not finding the screen. It is knowing what the screen means for the quarter.

  • You see the condition, not just the deal. The incentives that depend on a registered deal sit next to the conditions that decide whether they pay, so a reward still waiting on an approval is visible while you can still act on it.
  • A specialization never lapses unnoticed. The certifications underneath each specialization are tracked with their holders and their expiry dates, so the gap shows up before the level does.
  • Life-cycle earning gets counted. As Engage moves recognition across the customer life cycle, renewal, expansion and services activity is tracked against the reward it triggers rather than left to the order record.
  • Fortinet stops being its own island. Your Fortinet position sits alongside every other vendor you carry, in one common language, so finance can book one number instead of reconciling several.
FAQ

Fortinet Engage questions partners ask first.

Fortinet's own program announcement names four levels: Advocate, Select, Advanced and Expert. Advocate is the entry point, with limited requirements and limited benefits. Select is the first level eligible to specialize, which Fortinet states on its current partner page. Advanced is reached on staff certification standards plus delivery across the portfolio, and Expert is reserved for partners with consistently high revenue, full portfolio delivery and a certified bench. Fortinet is currently rebuilding Engage around a clearer global structure, so confirm your own level and its requirements in your partner portal rather than from any document, including this one.
Fortinet runs deal registration as part of Engage, and it is a condition a reward attaches to rather than a form that completes a sale. The mechanics and the discount sit behind the partner portal, and Fortinet has said a rebuilt Partner Portal will bring streamlined deal registration. The financial point is the same either way: an approved registration is what the reward depends on, submitted is not approved, and the reward still has to be earned and claimed against the terms of the period. Rebates-On does not submit registrations and does not replace Fortinet's portal. It tracks the incentives, eligibility, requirements and deadlines that a registered deal affects.
Fortinet's current list runs across SD-WAN, Cloud Security, Secure Networking Firewall, Secure Networking LAN, SASE, Operational Technology and Security Operations, and Select and above partners are eligible for them. They matter financially because they gate your level, and a level sets the terms you sell on. A specialization is held by people holding certifications, so it can lapse without any commercial decision being made. Fortinet has also said the specialization set is being streamlined, which makes it worth re-checking rather than assuming.
Fortinet has said the updated Engage program expands recognition beyond the initial sale to include partner contributions across the entire customer life cycle, and that the program is being given a clearer and more consistent global structure with a streamlined set of specializations. It has also said a new Partner Portal will provide improved dashboarding and streamlined deal registration, and that an Engage Platform designation is coming for partners who can show expertise across the integrated platform. The direction is away from rewarding the transaction and toward rewarding the life cycle, which changes which of your activities earns.
No. Fortinet's discounts, rebate rates and reward values sit behind its partner portal, and they are set per period and per region. We describe mechanics, not rates. The numbers that apply to your organization are the ones in your own Fortinet portal and your own agreement.
That is the whole reason Rebates-On exists. A partner carrying Fortinet is usually carrying several other vendor programs too, each with its own portal, its own period and its own conditions. Rebates-On is pre-built for the partner programs of 22 vendors and holds them in one common language, so your Fortinet position sits next to your Cisco, Dell and Microsoft positions rather than in a tab of its own.
